Why do Roosters crow?

    For the same reasons that they cross the road for, because they can. Of course it's to claim and establish territory and dominance, and to call in any hens that are looking for a rooster and sometimes it's just to brag, much like any other males.

    Roosters crow for much the same reasons that male gorillas beat on their chests, young boys ride their bikes with no hands, men drive flashy or powerful cars, and women covet shiny jewelry..
