Why do seller not ship to Alaska. What rules???

Ok, I sell and Ihave been asked to ship to Alaska. I see some seller say due to rules they cannot ship to Alaska. Why??? What rules????

I was just about to post a question about this. Has anyone shipped chicks to Alaska? I have an order but I told them I was not sure if it could be done. I am in NY and it seems so far. I have shipped to CA with out any issues but wanted to hear if anyone else had done live chicks that far.

I have 24 hour heat pads but I dont even know if they make longer lasting ones, I also have these waterers I purchased specifically foir shipping birds they get glued into the box and use a sponge to keep water in. I could glue in a feeder of sorts as well and use grow gell also.

I think the issue is that most carriers can not guarantee shipping time to Alaska. UPS offices occasionally say they can guarantee time, but they aren't looking far enough into the company rules. Even the post office doesn't guarantee delivery to Alaska. The weather causes too many flight delays, in too many places for most shippers. Much of the shipping is also routed through a few places, then distributed. This means that shipping is easily disrupted.

I agree. I have sort of a regular customer there now. She has all her eggs Express Mailed so they get there in 2 days. I sent her some birds this fall and they took three days. I put lots of apples in that box thank goodness.​
