Why do we love chickens?

I always thought that time was going by so fast. Everything is so disposable. People rushing around working & driving their kids to every event that takes up the day, every day of the week. Not realizing what was going on around them because they were always just running around. I was longing for something that would take me back to my grandfathers farm. The horses, chickens and the water we had to pump to give to the animals. One day when I was getting fish food in the pet store I saw they had chicks. I knew that I NEEDED to get a few. I have had chickens now for 5 years & it is one of the most relaxing hobbies I have ever had. I tried to replicate my grandfathers yard with old time water pumps, an old wash tub that I grow petunias in and old barrels that herbs grow in. I have a bench where I sit & drink coffee and watch my girls with amusement & then I am ready to go about my day with a clear head
