Why do you love chickens?

With so much negative in the world right now, I would love to just hear happy stories of chicken love. Why are so many of us in love with chickens? I tell stories about my chickens to my co-workers as if they're my children. What do you love about chickens or caring for chickens?

I love my chickens' consistently cheerful dispositions. When I go outside and care for them or just talk to them, they happily talk back. They're always busy and chatty and don't know what it is to worry about anything. It's like time slows down when I am around them. It's blissfully peaceful in their little world.

They are eternal optimist. Every day is the best day to a chicken. They remind me to enjoy the moment, and the small stuff.

I just think there is something so charming about such a simple, carefree animal that isn't the smartest, isn't the prettiest (although some breeds are definitely gorgeous), but is so happy-go-lucky.
