why does it smell like this?

i have a ? about metal waterers i noticed my metal one has a weird smell i dnt know if its my water outa the hose that i use for there water i keep reading on this website about people putn viniger in the water what does that do to the water does it prevent smelly water like i think i have so whats the purpose of the viniger is it good for the chickens?

I have metal waterers too and don't use vinegar--the vinegar will corrode the metal, you can only use it with plastic containers. Don't know what to tell you about the smell, if you're on well water in might be from minerals in the water.

i think its well water im not totally sure though thanks for telln me that you cant put viniger in meteal waterers i wouldve learned that the hard way if i ddnt ask someone haha i guess its ok if the water smells alittle as long as it dsnt hurt the birds
