My black copper marans is about a year old. Her whole laying career she has laid double or triple yolk eggs about as often as she lays ordinary-sized eggs. Is there anything I can do to help her to produce regular-sized eggs more regularly? When she has to pass these she gets really stressed out, which is completely understandable because I can't imagine how uncomfortable that must be. I also can't imagine it's good for her long-term health to have to do this a couple times a week.

Wow !

That is a whopper of an egg ! Ouch in fact, not surprised she’s kicking up a fuss.

Normally chooks stop doubling after a few months, maximum a year. So if I were you I wouldn’t worry she’ll grow out of it.

Just enjoy the special gifts while you can.

Hope this helps,
Hugz
