Why does my black Orp cockerel have gold on him??

This is my black Orpington cockerel Fancypants

Does the gold on his neck mean that he isn't competely pure black Orp? His doesn't have gold anywhere else on him.

Where did you get him from? It is possible that he is not completely pure. However, many black birds do have gold leakage, even if they are pure.

We got him from a guy locally, he sold us a 6 chickens all different breeds and gave us this cockerel free along with a blue Orp hen.
I think it's likely he's not competely pure but I think he quite handsome and he's got a great temperament!

Thanks for the replies, I've had a look at some other black orps and have seen some gold in similar cockerels so assumed this was normal for the breed
