Why does my brahma get a red face?

I have a 3 month old brahma hen. She doesn't seem sick. Eats, drinks, and behaves normally. But for some reason her face turns BRIGHT red for a couple of minutes and then goes back to normal. Happens frequently. Is she stressed out?

Color change of the face I think is just behavioral, depending on mood and excitement. It can also have to do with the heat, or so it seems with my chickens (which are paler in warm weather).

I hope this helps.

Must be behavioral cuz it stays red for less than 5 minutes at a time. Thank you. I asked the lady at my feed store and she said she never heard of it so it kind of frightened me.

It's the just circulatory system...when they are excited or agitated, the color will increase; when calm, it will decrease.
Usually more apparent in younger birds.
It can drive ya nuts when waiting for pullets to come into lay.
