Why does my chicken act like she is going to throw up?

Sometimes I go outside and see her acting like she is about to throw up.. You know how a cat is coughing then hurls/vomits? It's like there is a hair ball in her throat but this has been happening for a few days now. She is a Silver Laced Wyandotte, very friendly, about a year old, and she is laying eggs. Any ideas? I need some help.

Does she stick her head out or up with her beak open?

Is it constant or occasional?
She could be adjusting her crop.
She may have something stuck in her throat.

Sometimes she does but most of the time she puts her head up and fluffs up her feathers then goes normal again. Then continues it at least 3-4 times.

I can try to record it, it doesn't always happen when I am there.

Is she eating/drinking/pooping/moving around OK?
