Why does my chicken make this noise while eating rice?!

My hen, Rosy, makes this weird noise when she eats rice. It's kinda funny... =P

She's saying "Food! There's food over here!". If she had a clutch of chicks she would make this noise to call the chicks over. Roosters also do it to show the hens where food is.

Oh...I get it. Although, there's no one to call...she's alone in the house because the other chickens won't let her back in the coop. =[
Sometimes one of the other girls will make that noise, and the other two will run over and take it from her!

x2! Our roo makes that same noise to alert the ladies that he has found a tidbit. If they don't come running, he will pick up said tidbit in his beak and throw it back down on the ground WHILE making the noise...a zillion times until they come over and eat it

He's such a good roo.
