Why does my hen keep pushing her eggs away?

Well yesterday and today there have not been any eggs pushed out so that is good news! Hopefully we are in the clear with that but we are going to purchase an incubator just in case. It sure is stressful trying to hatch chicks!
sounds good!!

That sure is weird! But I am glad it has stopped!

I have never hatched chicks before but have gotten day old's from the local farmers supply. Right now I have 3 araucanas (Spelled??) ,2 guineas ,a cherry, and cuckoo maran. They are nearly pullets now and hopefully will lay better than the 5 hens I have now.

They only lay 2-4 eggs a day...sometimes we don't get any!!

Does anyone know that I posted a post? It is a new thread andit is called....." do i need any vitamin supplement for my sisters duck? HELP ME!!"
What is a cherry? Sorry about your eggs. It also depends on the breed of chicken how high they produce. We have 7 hens and average 3-7 a day depending on who lays. Bantams are known to lay every single day from what I hear.
I am not seeing your thread, did you post it in the duck section? Also.....

Also in the top right hand corner where your username is you can click that and it will take you to your home page, just scroll down and it will have any threads you have started or commented in and you can get back into them from there. I checked you page and I don't see anything with the title you gave me. Sorry! May have to re-post.

My hen has pushed out 3 more of her eggs. We are getting an incubator today but can anyone tell me how long the eggs can go without being sat on? I want to put them in the incubator but how long until it's too late?
Thanks!

Some hens are bad brooders!

I have Japanese Bantams and they are all very good, except one. She always does the same as your one. Every day or 2 another egg is pushed out of the nest. She will do this until they are all gone! I have given her 2 chances, and not I never allow her to brood any eggs.

There was nothing wrong with the eggs, they were all the same colour, no other hens were disturbing her.

She would also keep pushing out the nesting material until the box was empty. After that she started to roll the eggs out. Guess it down to the individual hen what they will be like.

Aww, she definitely sounds like mine! We will not let her sit anymore that is for sure. This is the 5th egg she has done I believe and I just can't handle any more dead chicks.
We got some Japanese Bantams about 3 weeks ago and we love them! They are almost 4 months and they are greys. We can't wait until they start having babies! :)

I would put them in anyway and candle in 5 or 6 days and see how that goes. Sometimes eggs can be very resilient.

I have a Java pullet that insisted on sitting on some eggs. Her sister successfully hatched 2 chicks. Neither chick was actually theirs. Anyways, this Java wouldn't stay out of her sisters nest, so we blocked her sister off with the eggs. Then we gave the insistent Java 6 eggs. She had 7 under her so she managed to get one that was recentally laid. None of them were hers. 5 eggs were cream colored (Silkie eggs) and 2 were brown, 1 from her other sister and 1 a mystery. The chicks were supposed to hatch this Saturday. Tuesday night she pushed out 4. I put them back under her thinking that another pullet was trying to steal them. Wednesday morning they were pushed back out. Those sat on the table all day before I mentioned this to my son. Since then, she has pushed them all out. I did a float test on them and they are all still alive. They are all in the incubator now except for the mystery egg. That one had not started. Probably laid today. I am not sure why she pushed them out, but they are due in 3 days. Hopefully they will be fine.
