sounds good!!Well yesterday and today there have not been any eggs pushed out so that is good news! Hopefully we are in the clear with that but we are going to purchase an incubator just in case. It sure is stressful trying to hatch chicks!

What is a cherry? Sorry about your eggs. It also depends on the breed of chicken how high they produce. We have 7 hens and average 3-7 a day depending on who lays. Bantams are known to lay every single day from what I hear. That sure is weird! But I am glad it has stopped!I have never hatched chicks before but have gotten day old's from the local farmers supply. Right now I have 3 araucanas (Spelled??) ,2 guineas ,a cherry, and cuckoo maran. They are nearly pullets now and hopefully will lay better than the 5 hens I have now.
They only lay 2-4 eggs a day...sometimes we don't get any!!![]()
Does anyone know that I posted a post? It is a new thread andit is called....." do i need any vitamin supplement for my sisters duck? HELP ME!!"
Aww, she definitely sounds like mine! We will not let her sit anymore that is for sure. This is the 5th egg she has done I believe and I just can't handle any more dead chicks. Some hens are bad brooders!
I have Japanese Bantams and they are all very good, except one. She always does the same as your one. Every day or 2 another egg is pushed out of the nest. She will do this until they are all gone! I have given her 2 chances, and not I never allow her to brood any eggs.
There was nothing wrong with the eggs, they were all the same colour, no other hens were disturbing her.
She would also keep pushing out the nesting material until the box was empty. After that she started to roll the eggs out. Guess it down to the individual hen what they will be like.
