why does my hen keep sneezing?

I'd HIGHLY recommend putting the hen in an area where the other chickens are not! I've just had this happen and within a week the entire flock was sneezing and not wanting to lay! It could be one of many chicken diseases/viruses and you want to isolate her. Does she have a runny nose? Is she gasping or coughing? What do her droppings look like? Is she lethargic? All of these questions can lead to a diagnosis from one of many chicken helpers! Here is a flow chart to help - it should come out in adobe www.ces.ncsu.edu/chatham/ag/SustAg/poultryillnessflowchart.pdf

Here
is another great website. Also, a lot of people overreact with chicken illness. If the hen dies overnight or within a couple days - you have a real problem. But give her AppleCider Vinegar, Colloidal Silver, Kelp Meal (on her food), Roasted Diced Garlic, or any other treat (fruit in moderation, yogurt) that's healthy. If she's still alive in a week, Follow the spreadsheet and give her some more Hollistic treatment and THEN try antibiotic. Remember you can't eat the chicken or the eggs for AT LEAST 3 weeks after medicating with an antibiotic.
