Why does my hen peck me?

I've been part of this club for about a year now.

my 1 year old RIR, dixie, is somewhat aggressive.

anyone know why. she pecks often.

it might be because she's hungry in the morning, or our toes look like grubs.

if you need to know more about dixie-

she free ranges every day and goes in when it gets dark.

she is VERY GOOD FRIENDS with my other chicken and is "the boss" of her.

but in her past home, she was kept inside as a chick.. do you think this affected her behavior VIA lack of socialization?

How long have you had her?

Is the pecking at your toes violent or do you sense she's just checking you out?
