Why does my hen run around really fast then sit down?

Her feet are fine. Don't see any prob there. My cockerel (also d'uccle) is the one with foot issues- he's forever breaking a feather on his feet and he bleeds. First time that happened I panicked LOL.
But the pullet's feet are ok, I did notice the past 2 days her eggs are a bit smaller though. Is that normal? How do I know if they should be wormed?

If your pullet acts healthy I wouldn't worry about it. When they first start laying they tend to fluctuate a lot on texture, size, and regularity.

Yeah, my poor hen (see avatar) lost about 3 of her toenails for no apparent reason when she was a few months old. One has a weird thing that he was hatched with, his two outside toes are stuck together and bright red.

I've never had good luck with their feet.

I'm not sure about worming.

Haha thanks! I do cuddle them a lot so it definitely fits! Is your rooster very sweet and cuddly too? My cockerel(Gin) loves cuddles and will fall asleep in my lap. My pullet (Tonic) will follow me everywhere and she always jumps up on the couch and just sits (I have diapers for them).

I've always wanted chicken diapers! My hens are super sweet, and no doubt about it my favorite breed. Unfortunately, one rooster is a jerk (he lived in a coop the size of a small cardboard box with 3 other chickens before I got him) and the other is very shy (but still my favorite rooster). He is so sweet, I've only heard him crow twice, because he couldn't find the others, it was so cute!

I've got 3 Porcelain d'Uccles hens, because I just can't resist them!

I got my chicken diapers from Louise's Country Closet. She is here on BYC! I'm totally pleased with them. My chickens spend a lot of time in the house so it makes life 1000% easier.
We call them the Kardashickens bc they r so spoiled LOL.
The cockerel crows every morning at 815 and he crows all the time during the day.

Sweet! I've got to talk my mom into it! I really want to have Sophie (see avatar, she is in the bathroom in that pic, tornado passin by and I was the only one home) as a house chicken, but she always seems to poop waaaaaaay more when I let her in the house. I'm just glad she waits until I set her down.

Hahaha they almost always poop more in the house! LOL ironically when you put a diaper on them there is even LESS poop! Hahaha
