Why does my silkie have a flat top
my other silkies look like this


what is wrong with her pomm pom. Poach is 9 months old and my other 2 are 5 months old. Is she a different type of silkie or is she a cross. She is a very cheeky chook she is great to watch. She is the only chook I have that can actually see. Fry and Omelletes pomms are 2 big and they cant see much. I have to feed them seperate to make sure they get what they need. lol But since she is the oldest she is scrambles my silkie roos favourite. He doesnt seem to like fry or omellete yet.

Did you get the birds at all different places?

Fry and Omellete do not look to be from the same place as Poach.

Could she be a male? If not, I don't think she's bearded.

yes I bought her from the same breeder and poach is diffently a girl as she has laid some eggs.

Do you have a rooster?
I have one pullet that looks like that because the roo is
always trying to mount her. Doesn't mess with any of the
other girls.

i have an 5 month old roo. I bought poach about 6 weeks ago and her top was small. The breeder said she was in moult and it will grow. It hasnt changed though. My roo does attempt to mate with her though. But he seems to be gentle and she lets him.

I have silkies and they all came from Ideal in the same hatch.
Some are bearded and others are beardless. I have one that is a female and lays eggs... she has a smaller top knot than your's does.
I think it has something to do with their genes.
