My young silkie roo (not the one in my profile) has a bright red rose comb! Is this normal? His brothers had normal small black comb.

3 & 1/2 MonthsAge? Pics?
Yea its weird I'm stumped because all of his brothers and sisters had normal wattles and combs but he was just 'different'Could also be a throw back to a non silkie ancestor.![]()
Hmm He does have black skin tho. There exist four different types of Silkies:
The Siamese Silkie has white skin and red comb and wattles whereas the other kind originated in china shows the well known black skin colour.
They exist in bantam or normal size.
He could be a mix then.Hmm He does have black skin tho.
His parents were pure!He could be a mix then.
You can see different comb types pop up randomly. My 20+ generation silkie cockerel has a single comb, though very dark mulberry colored. Assume it is throw back to a distant ancestor.Yea its weird I'm stumped because all of his brothers and sisters had normal wattles and combs but he was just 'different'
