Is the temperature right? What about the humidity? Is my incubator working like it should. Are the air sacs big enough? small enough? Do they look developed enough? Too developed. Is my thermometer working? What about my hygrometer? ..................... I'm going to have more gray hair. Last year I pretty much put them in there and didn't worry too much... don't know why I'm worrying so much this year. It could be because the one incubator was off and I had to send it back... and now I don't trust anything.... Oh I feel like an expectant mother.

My name is Barbara and I am a slave to my bator. I even have a bator sitter and when i go out, I still call two or three times to see what the numbers are.

My name is Barbara and I'm an incubating junkie.

And to think.. Broodys do it automagically! Lol..

Not to worry... I have 3 bators in my bedroom going FULL blast right now, and I have just completed my "Big Mondo Super Duper" 15 dollar incubator.. It is made out of an upright freezer. It is in the Laundry room and it is about to take 12 dozen Pekin eggs!!

Woot!

violetsky - I started out setting up two incubators. I was going to hatch duck eggs in my Brinsea and chicken eggs in my R-Com. The chicken eggs weren't here yet, so I loaded my Brinsea with duck eggs and I had one extra so I stuck it in my R-Com thinking when I candled them I would probably have a few that weren't fertile. I candled them in 1 week and all of my duck eggs in the Brinsea had died, the digital temperature guage on top was wrong and they had been incubating at 90. instead of 99.5 like it was reading. I dumped the eggs in the Brinsea, and couldn't get the temperature up any higher, so I shipped it back to the company to get it fixed. I had one little duck egg in my R-Com that was growing. I was able to get another incubator which I put the chicken eggs in when they arrived. I collected some more duck eggs and put them in the R-Com with the single duck egg from the first hatch. The new duck eggs and the chicken eggs went in around the 1st of April, but the one duck egg has a little head start. I set up an old Little Giant incubator that I had so I can take the one duck egg and put it in lock down when the time comes without disturbing the rest of the eggs. I hope it all works out.

Tia,
We must worry about stuff because if we let our gaurd down for even one minute, it will all go downhill and turn out bad. worry is the price we pay for insurance...
