I have a small run and a small chicken house for my two batams. Its freezing here in VA put every night instead of going into their nice instullated chicken house then sit on the roost in the run. I have to go out and put them to bed. My husband says they just wait for me because their my babies! SHould I take the outside roost bar down??

Take the outside roost bar away. If they still don't go in at night, try locking them in the coop for a few days - it won't kill them, honest.

Out of over 100 birds, I have only 4 Seramas that won't go in at night, so I gave up on putting them away at night, so I hung a heat lamp under the coop where they stay. They seem to be doing well under there.

I know this may be a dumb question but...
(1). Do they have a roost IN the coop?
(2). Is the inside roost the same as the outside roost? (maybe they don't like the feel of the indoors one)

MMmm when I 1st got them they went inside fine by themselves, I did block off the window with some insulation to stop a draft and I've wondered if when its roosting time its too dark inside them to see??? the inside roost is about and inch round and the outside roost is an inch square,
