My chicks are total users -- they love me when I have treats but 9/10 no longer love me once they realize the hand is empty. I handle them all anyway because I want them to be used to it. It's just not realistic to expect that they'll want to hang out in your lap like a cat.

This was posted last year, just in time for my babies. I know it doeosn't really apply to older chicks, but it works like a charm for babies.

Try sitting there and reading to them, that's what I did now they love me.
