Why dosent the UK get snow??????????

I get so jealous when I see people post who are form North America and their getting snow everyday, where in the UK , your lucky if you get it once a year! I spend ages looking at the forecast looking to see if we get snow, and we hardly never do.
Why is this???

There is a lot of the US that never/rarely sees snow. For me, snow is not a make or break thing.

Some years we get mega doses of snow, this year my area has barely had any.

It's because of the gulf stream that goes from the Caribbean to the UK and warms you up. That's why you are generally warmer even though you're farther north. I know what you mean. Here in Southern Maryland, we used to get cold winters (when I was a kid). Now there's hardly any snow or even below 40 degree F days here in winter. I love cold weather and snow! It stinks that I haven't been able to wear a long sleeved shirt indoors in the winter for years. It's just to darn hot! (The cold weather haters are going to be mad at me )
