Why ducks?

Because we are currently in the middle of this


My yard is a series of rivers and lakes right now and we've had more than 4" of rain in the last hour and it has been doing this for almost 2 hours now...

My doberman is pacing the house and finding spots to hide.
My great dane is hiding under my legs.
My chickens are huddled together under a big bushy tree that is the only non flooded spot in the yard.
The ducks...
the ducks are zooming around, swimming in the yard lakes, having a grand ol time.

That's why ducks.
They are totally in love with this crap while everybody else is hiding.
They are having a blast.

Yep, that is one of the reasons for me too. Not so much flooding as mudding here. A few of my neighbors have chickens and they look miserable hiding where ever they can find a dry spot. My ducks are so happy as I have lots of rain coming down and the worms are coming up.

They went for a quick swim in their newfound pond. Too bad for them they couldn't explore all of it since the vast majority of it was on the neighbors side of the fence.

I thought that was a big pond it's just your neighbors yard? my goodness and to think that's headed our way..

The neighbors pond is on the other side of the trees on the right LOL
That's normally just a dry area where all our water ends up after it runs through our yard.

Beautiful area and such pretty grass. We're still waiting for it to start here.
