Why I like Orphingtons:

I don't have a camera set up yet, so I'll just tell you why I love Orp's.

I have Barred Rocks, Australorps, Welsummer and Ameraucanas.

None of them wiggle their little fuzzy butts when they run like my little Buffy. We can't help but laugh. She is so darn adorable.

I should change her name to Little Wiggles.

So, if anyone is wondering what kind of chicken to get for the first time get a Fuzzy Wiggle Butt.

I have some Buff Orpingtons and like them as well; very beautiful, calm, and gentle birds. Great breed for children; my children, and now my granddaughter, made pets of them (I like my Black Australorps as well for the same reasons). Good luck with your flock.

I have heard they are gentle and I do believe this. Mine is 23 wks and I just now can pet her if she squats only for a moment.
