Glad she posted on it, I never would have come across such cute pictures! My boys/girls are the same way. Those barred rocks know how to win you over! This thread is positively ancient, almost 5 years old! Barred Rocks are still my favorite. More have come and gone since this posted. luvussomechicks, you'll need to post pictures in the What Breed or Gender section. Can't really answer your question without pictures. (psst, it's "wattles", not "waddles").
I've always found mine loved to talk up a storm. You would talk to them, and they'd go on bawking back. It's one of my favourite things about them. If it wasn't for my first barred rock, Dixie, I would not be nearly this much into chickens. Who knew they could have such personality and healing power (healing of the soul). I hated going outside before I got chickens. Now I relax with a book and a lawn chair out and enjoy the mischievousness of my flock. All thanks to one beautiful barred rock full of personality! My Lexie, who died awhile back at the age of 5 1/2, loved to swing in the hammock. Dottie has followed in her footsteps-caught her swinging one day, LOL. They are full of personality, for sure!
