Why I think Bantams are not the best pet chickens

they'll make a cheeky little pet
I agree, I love my little Sebright, Moonshine. What a spunky, friendly little character she is. I was thinking that if I move to a city where they limit # of chickens, I could have a bunch of Sebrights and tell people they were pigeons....they don't look like chickens.

Sue - Oh Absolutely! I was living in an urban area when I got my two monkies and they thrived in my yard. I found that they made good little watch hens - as soon as a visitor would arrive they'd be up to the gate chattering excitedly looking for attention hehe. I had a waterblasting contractor over once to wash the house and I did warn him not to leave anything on the ground that he didn't want them to thoroughly investigate. He thought leaving his bag on the barbeque would be safe.. until he discovered they'd jumped up there, rifled through it, and stolen his lunch!!!!! He forgave them pretty quickly and I made him a new lunch so all ended well and he went home with a funny story to tell :)
