Why is Aspergillosis added to chicken food?

The feed I was using prior was the TSC store brand. After opening the bag of Purina I noticed it seemed like it has a different texture and possibly a coating of some kind that gives it a "shine" or "wet" look. Where the other brand was dry didn't seem t b coated. Was just curious if this "coating" is why it isn't fermenting as well.?
