why is it always 6+ eggs instead of a dozen?

I would never buy less then a whole doz. I have sold eggs for 20 years and I always keep a min. of 7 hens of a breed. At this time I have Lacy Roundhead game eggs $25.00 for a doz or $35.00 for 2 doz shipped to your door postage paid. Pm me for more info.

Right now we are selling 6+ at a time but only because it is the beginning of season and many of the girls are just getting started for the season. Some Breeds we can only offer 6+ at a time due to number of hens or sporadic laying. I agree though 6 at a time gets frustrating. Last year i ordered 3 sets of seramas 6+ each time and ended up will all roosters out of all 3 hatches. But luck of the draw i guess.

I think you hit it right on the head there.

My bantam OEG only have 2-3 hens per roo, so at most I would send 9 eggs and that's IF all the hens laid every day of collection.

Some of us don't have enough females to supply a viable dozen, some of us are just beginning the laying season, and some of us are just auctioning "test" eggs. I've seen plenty "test" eggs for for a lot of money too. It is all up to the bidder.

I'm no fan of 6+ unless I really need that breed or color or strain, but if people what something like I do, and I only have just that, I'll auction it.
