is this normal?? none of my other chicks do this. it is always this one chick and she just jumps on top of them. why is she doing this or is she just crazy like I've said in previous posts? LOL

I have one like that--she keeps hopping and walking on the others as if they're stepping stones! She will march right through 10 sleeping birds, stepping on their backs and heads, until she gets the warmest place in the middle of the mass of them. She was the one sleeping on the little one who died--I just KNOW she squooshed her by sleeping right ON her. Rude little thing!

We have one of those too.

We also have a smaller, runtier one that pushes UNDER everyone to get where he/she is going!

LOL, yeah... its totally random though sometimes! she'll just be standing there with the others and then jump! right on top! for no good reason. just for kicks perhaps?? LOL she's weird anyways.

Mine are doing this a lot. It's funny because I have 10 blue silkie chicks and none do this. However, 4 out of the 5 whites dive bomb one another (especially two I'm thinking are roos) and from what I've observed, it's sheer pecking order. The most dominant and bold ones out my little baby flock do this. They will flap their nugget-nubs and run into each other. It's awfully cute and adorable. For now.

My 4 chicks do this too. They are 4 weeks old now and it's been going on for about a week. They get real excited and then pounce. They all do it. I'm still not sure who is the dominant one yet , but I'm sure they'll establish that soon.
