Why is my chicken's beak open?

Please help. I have a chicken who's beak would remain open for about five minutes after clucking/making any noise. We think they could be panting(?) but here, it is currently 88°. It has been hotter here, though. Or it could be some sort of disease. Anyhow, we desperately need clarification, any educated guesses, opinions, or solutions. We would really appreciate it.
