Why is my rooster mating with my female duck?

Its really weird.But I caught my rooster mating with my female duck

. Could female ducks actually lay an egg from a rooster? Also we have a male duck. Why?

The rooster was just being a rooster. They will mate anything sometimes. No it will not be fertile from the roo. Just a little bit of rooster silliness

I've caught a very frustrated rooster trying to mate a coffee can. Beware if your duck starts amorous attentions toward your hens. That kind of breeding can kill a hen.

I had a Drake that would breed my black hens, before I got him some hens of his own.
