I have a rooster and 5 hens and they are all over 3 years old.
One of my hen is afraid of my roo as whenever he approaches her, he pecks and bites her head. It is not for mating but it rather looks like he is bullying her. Another problem is though my hen always positions down as if she is mating when she approaches him, but roo does not mate but just pecks and hurts her.
I did not separate her yet as she is not bleeding but I think its time for me to do someting as she is not coming down from the roost and when she comes down she is scared of a rooster.
This hen has not been laying eggs for a while and she gets along with other hens just fine.
Is ther anyone who had similar issue as mine? Should I separate my hen or the rooster?
