Why is one of my roosters suddenly terrified?

I know most people are here to ask why their roosters are suddenly aggressive, but I'm here to find out why one of my roosters (3yr old lavender orpington) is suddenly terrified of both me, and my other rooster. Before he was aggressive towards me and defensive against our other rooster (1.5yr jersey giant) who NEVER started fights with our orpington before. This happened overnight. Now the Jersey giant is aggressive towards our orpington and he runs away terrified if he even sees the Jersey. There has never been behavior like this in the years we've had them. I researched and learned that Amethyst(orpington) may not be the alpha male anymore and if so that is not good, Dragon(jersey giant) is very immature and fights at every chance he gets now. Has anyone else had this happen with a pair of roosters, and if so did you manage to fix it?

Sorry if this is not elaborate enough, I'm new here! Feel free to ask questions if you feel confused

I had to separate 2 brothers recently. The younger brother tried taking his brother's place as Alpha. I placed him in a different coop with a bunch of other roosters that will keep him in check. It's working which is great.

Haven't had it happen, but that's because I only keep one cock.
Get rid of. or at least separate asap, the male you don't want.

Yup, it can happen overnight, even after being fine for over a year.

Had 2 roosters get along for well over a year, until one day #2 decided he wanted to be boss. After that even 40 hens and 2 acres weren't enough for both of them. #2 ended up as pot pie (he started stalking humans at that time too).

You're going to have to decide which one to keep, or have separate accommodations for each.

Yep, a new sheriff in town. The younger one matured to the point he has taken over so pecking order/flock dominance has flipped. Their roles and attitudes can change pretty dramatically when that happens.

If the younger one is still going after the older one he is probably still entrenching himself as alpha. That may soon stop as they work into their new roles and they may work together, or the younger may just totally want to run him out of the flock. If none are getting injured and you want to keep both you can wait and see what happens. They may work it out, they may not. Only time will tell.
