I have a pullet who as far as I know hasn't laid an egg yet. She's almost 22 weeks, EE and is doing the squat. It's funny. When she does it I ruffle the feathers on her back and she goes on her merry way. That's been happening for about 4 days.

Today, she did something very uncharacteristic. Three times. I was sitting in the yard in a lawnchair reading and she jumped up onto my arm. I pushed her down, she did it again. So I pet her. Then I walked to the coop and gave them some scratch so all the birds would stay there.

After she ate the scratch, she came back and jumped on me again. She has never done this before. What does it mean?

She wants attention. Our EEs are ubber friendly like that too. One of my EEs did not lay until she was almost 25 weeks old so I would not worry about that too much.

Does that mean it's taken this long for her to feel comfortable enough to ask for attention? We got her at 10 weeks old so we've had her 2 1/2 months now.
