Why is the air bubble on the side and not on the end?

I have noticed that one of my EE hens, every so often, lays an egg with the air bubble on the side? Why is this happening and will it re-adjust to the end if it stored pointy end down? I want to incubate a set of my EE eggs this spring and I don't want the chick to start growing and then it having no air to breath when ready to hatch.
