why is the membrane of some of my eggs so thick?

My chickens just started laying october/november. some of the membranes on the eggs are so thick they are hard to crack. The egg shell is normal. not to thick. Any reason why some of the membranes are so thick. It's only thick with some of the eggs not all of them.

They are good & fresh - if you want the eggs to be easier to crack - let them sit in the fridge for a month or so. The membrane will start to shrink & it will be easier to open.
