How many other Roosters did she have? Possibly she sold you the oldest one thinking he was still working?

Just him and 5 hens.
She still has one hen with chicks I will be getting after she is done with the chicks.

Well then give him more time. He probably is needing a break.

How long have you had these birds...maybe they are just not settled in yet??
Do you have other cock/erels in your flock?

I am going over today. I will be asking about the chicks. I know the hen is mothering some of her other breeds as well. We will see.
