Why it's important to provide OPTIMAL nutrition this time of year

My Ultra Kibble will be here today!!!!
I have 5 older hens and 7 - 6wk old Buff Orp chicks. How much should they get each day.
I also have a soy free feed on the way. Its 20 lb, Small Flock order.

I'm confused.

So are you saying we SHOULD or we SHOULD NOT be feeding soy to our chickens?

cause I'm seeing both mentioned - in this thread.

Why is this Ultrakibble supposed to be better? The ingredients look pretty much like any other chicken feed to me. ??? I feed organic layer pellets. They DO contain soy, but it's organic. The ingredients certainly look better than in the Ultrakibble (which also contains soy).

INGREDIENTS: Corn gluten meal, corn, soybean meal, linseed meal, catfish meal, dicalcium phosphate, crab meal, yeast culture, dried vegetables (dehydrated beet pulp, dehydrated celery pulp, dehydrated water cress pulp, dehydrated spinach pulp, dehydrated carrot pulp, dehydrated lettuce pulp), HMS vitamin pre-mix, salt (NaCI), choline chloride, fresh ground cinnamon and assorted spices, diatomaceous earth, primalac, lysine, selenium.

Just curious why some people feel it's better to feed? Thanks!

I believe the first ingredient list you copied was for advertising/marketing. The second ingredient list appears to be that which would be on the tag/label as it contains all the ingredients listed as ouline in the Model Regulations of the AAFCO manual.
