I still love my buff orps, I really do, but I am getting a bit fed-up.
After going out for the day, and getting home a bit latter then expected, I was in a hurry to shut them up for the night. It was already dark, and raining.
The gate latch got stuck, and instead of messing around it the rain, I went to climb over the fence, by standing on a log. As I was about to jump over, I looked down, and saw this heap of wet buff colored feathers, with a head sticking out the top. Yup, that silly orp had managed to squeeze out somewhere, and not been able to get back in. So I picked up that miserable pullet, and went to put her in the coop, where all the other chickens were nice and dry, except the other buff orp!
So than I had to look all around the fence, and found another very miserable pullet on the other side.
If they have to find a gap, why can't the find their way back, like my SS can? They are just so impractical!
