Why r my chicks dyeing

I'm not an expert; but, I kept mine at about 95 the first week, then lowered 5 degrees each week. Make sure they have a warm end and a cool end so they have somewhere to go to warm up/cool off; have good chick chuck and nice clean water that they can't drown in. Did you introduce them to their food and water? They don't have pasty butt do they? Have they been stressed in shipping or something? Hope this helps.

They were not shipped but I do have cats & dogs that may have stressed them out & I clean the brooder 1 time a week

How old are your babies? The little pasty butts need to be washed so they can poop. I had one little guy I almost lost cause his butt was pasted over and he couldn't poop. He's now a year old. When I started with mine 3 years ago the county extension agent said you have to make sure they know where their food and water is by gently putting the tips of their beaks in the food and water containers. I thought they automatically knew that; but, the broodies teach them.
