Hi. I was wondering why shouldn't small flocks of chickens get vaccinted for Mareks disease? I read this on a hatchery website. I already vaccinated my first order from a different hatchery and I have a small flock. Is this something to worry about?

It's the owners choice whether to have their chickens vaccinated or not. Mine arnt vaccinated against anything. It also depends what poultry diseases are prevelent in your area. Here where I live, fowl pox can be a problem and I know others in the area have vaccinated their chickens for that disease. My birds have been through fowl pox and are now immune to that strain.
