why some hen lay eggs while other don't.

Hi. I have four 6month old hens. 1 champine, 2 gold orpington, and 1 that maybe be a black orpington (not sure, but look exactly like the gold orpinton). One of the gold and the black orpington are laying but the other two aren't. What should I do? And last, is there a way to train each Hen to lay in a certain spot in the coop? I want the four older hen in the upper half of the coop and have new five hens lay in the lower half. What should I do?

Chickens are like people they mature at different rates. The other girls will get there just be patient. As far as training them where to lay you can put golf balls or fake eggs in the nest boxes to give them the idea of where to lay,but as far as which nest boxes they lay in that will be their choice and probably will all lay in one or two boxes. They like to lay where somebody else has layed. Most people don't really care as long as it's in a nest box and not under a bush somewhere.
