Good morning all, I rescued this little chicks when they were about 6 weeks old. The little hen was sickly but I cured her and now she is 100% They are supposed to be BB Red Old English. I was told the hen is no because she has dark legs and their legs are supposed to be white. Could this be because she was ill? She had a respiratory illness that required antibiotics.

Hi MissMouse, I don't think it would be the antibiotics but I am no expert on that. I looked in my bantam book and that said they need to have white tinged with pink legs. That doesn't mean its not it's old English game (the hen) but it might be a hatchery type bird. They might both be, but color of the hen and her face looks different to me. Do you have more pics? Thanks.

The pullet fits a BB Red Dutch Bantam. She should have white earlobes when she gets older.
