Why was I up at 5 this morning?!?!?

BECAUSE I'M PICKING UP MY CAYUGA DUCKIES TODAY!!!!! WHOOOOOO....

Going for a drive toward the coast, going to check out, and hopefully bring home some Cayuga ducks. After the peafowl incident, I had to learn the hard way not to go with the mindset " I AM bringing something home!". LOL

Car is loaded, directions are printed, just have to resist jumping on and waking the hubby.

After we pick up the ducks, it's still onward to the coast as I am visiting another feather fancier friend of mine.

Lucky you! I'm excited too! Going to pick up BLRW eggs from byc'er buzzardchick and bsaffles sent some in the mail!

So, we are finally back! Whoo what a day!

So, I went interested in 5 Cayugas, 1 male and 4 females... Ended up with 6 Cayugas and 3 Rouens. LOL NINE ducks total!

I swear, this is an addiction. All the ducks are happy and healthy, brought them home and let them take a dip in the pond. They bathed and played for 45 minutes straight! Then they came out of the pond and began roaming around, it was getting late and I feared them taking cover in the woods, so I herded them to the barn and put up a temporary pasture for them, just until they know where the feed and treats come from.

I will get pictures of them soon. Wish I had the camera when we turned them loose, all you could see was splashing water, flying feathers, and wagging ducky butts.
