Why was the chat room closed?

Why was the chat room closed? I assumed each time I signed on and couldn't locate it, it was under construction-again! Now, I've been told that it is gone forever!
I was really looking forward to chatting.

I think the mods were losing their minds trying to keep it family-friendly.......too much drama.
