So before all of my four chickens went into there coop, but then one night I went to check on them and two were sitting on top off the coop! And the next day three of them were there. Why are they doing this!? Is it cause of summer!?

:welcome It may be that the coop is hot or there may be a mite infestation. Check closely to make sure there is not a mite problem. Sleeping on top of the coop they are vulnerable to predation.

I don't think that it is that cause we checked for mites or any type of bug and found nothing. But thank you for helping!

Photo of the coop would help. Also your general location or climate. Mainly I'd be looking at ventilation and roost space.
Ditto Dat!^^^ Pics and dimensions.

Welcome to BYC! @ChickenLover---
Where in this world are you located?
Climate, and time of year, is almost always a factor.
Please add your general geographical location to your profile.
It's easy to do, (laptop version shown), then it's always there!

Welcome to the forum, glad you joined!

Some good questions so far from others. I'll also ask their age and sex. And where were they sleeping inside the coop before they moved to the top of the coop?

Chickens tend to roost on the highest thing available. It could be the things others have mentioned, it could be that the top of the coop is higher than the roost inside, especially if they have just started to roost.

It is also possible one of your chickens is a bully and beats the others up if they try to roost with it, especially if your roost area is tight.

It's hard to tell what is going on across the internet, sometime seven being there doesn't help a lot. The more you can tell us about your set-up and situation the more likely we can help.
