why wont my ducks sleep inside

we have a dog house for our ducks to sleep in at night they still havent inprint on me so its hard to lock them up so i think they will go in there we put saw dust in the house they still wont go in there what should i do

How big is the house, and have you fed them treats in the house?

Is there water available at night?

What does the setup look like, over all?

I cannot recall what breeds you have, either.

whe have 2 pekin and one rouen it like the size of a dog kennel there is no food or water in there

Hmmm, I don't have dogs so I am not sure how big a dog kennel is. Is it 2 feet long by 3 feet wide?

They might just not like it. That can happen. And it might not be big enough to hold water or food. Not a show stopper, but something to think about.

Is it something that will keep raccoons from reaching into it? I don't mean to sound gruesome, but raccoons will reach into a small opening and pull parts of a duck out through it.

If the shelter is really small the ducks would not be able to move away from something reaching through.

Is the shelter inside a pen?

it is 8x8 and it has no door and thier are no racoons around here my nebior killed all of then

You should be able to herd them with a stick. Especially if they are ranging during the day and you are only feeding them at night. Put food and water in there before you want to lock them up. With a long stick or wide open arms walk them into the enclosure.

Is any of the enclosure covered? Do they have a corner to nestle in?

If you left a bag of trash full of food out all night, would it be ripped apart in the morning? Having ducks out is like leaving any other food item out. Racoons, skunks, fishers, they're all there even if you don't see them.

You need a door on the house to lock them inside

My pekin ducks won't go in by themselves either, as long as they have food, water and some bedding they are pritty content... And as it has been said a door will be needed to keep them in and any preditors out
