why wont my hen lay on her eggs?

I know the eggs are fertile and the hen will not lay on them.
idk whats going on.

Maybe you don't have a breed of hen that is known for going Broody....Just because there are eggs in a nest doesn't mean she will set them...it's her hormones that make broody hens, if she does not want to set she won't....

She might not have enough yet.

She will not sit on the eggs until she is happy with how manyshe has laid.

OTOH, broodiness is a trait that varies a lot among breeds.
