Why won't they lay?

"Johnny eat you food or you may starve.."

"But mom, there's candy falling from heaven!"

"Now Johnny- wait- there is.... lets go kids!"

lol... thanks for the illustration!

I just posted another thread because my chickens aren't laying either, and it's likely connected to our move. Ours are molting as well, and from what I understand they don't lay as much when molting... maybe they're stressed?

My wife called me excited this morning because we got our first egg from this group!!

Here is a picture of the first egg next to a store bought Large egg to show size.

Yippee!! Thanks for the advice everyone, I'm sure it helped! Now, the rest of the chickens have full, red, waxy combs, save one, whose comb is the smallest (low against her head, and very small - I'm guessing she's the youngest), so they should likely come in soon, too?

Got another egg this afternoon. If they take off like our last bunch, we really will be swimming in eggs. Had a few rhode Island reds, bantams and leghorns (12 total) and got an average of 13 eggs/day! The most I ever got was 18 in one day from 12 chickens!!
