I totally agree! Btw, what kind of hen laid the speckled egg? One of our welsummers lays speckled eggs and I think they are just the coolest looking eggs that we get.

I just have RIRs and an EE. Every once in a while I get a speckled brown egg. Has to be an RIR.

EE's are at the very tip top of my list for new chicks next spring! Rumor has it that the folks down the road from us have EE's...TRUE EE's...not those other breeds that people often confuse with EE's. With any luck, I can talk them out of a half dozen or so nice little chicks. And if one or two of them turn out to be a roo, all the better! I just want some lovely blue/green/pink/ eggs to go with the beautiful browns my girls currently produce!

Wow..great looking eggs..I have 2xEE but neither have laid..my other girls have started but no green/blue eggs yet...I am waiting egg-citedly.
