Why would my Silver Sebright hen crow?

She's my vane Silver Sebright hen that still sleeps in my mother's house & lays her egg in that house, whether in her nest I've provided or on the couch next to me as I sit there talking to my mother.

It seems that when she gets irritated or mad, she crows. Hoping that she would be a hen in the beginning, our hopes were dashed when she first crowed. But her first laid egg brightened our hopes for another hen.

I had a Sebright hen do that also... is it the breed? But actually my sister took her rooster away to a show, then the most dominant hen was in charge and started to crow. Do you have any other roosters?

The day after our dogs (boo hoo!

) broke into the coop and killed 3 chickens, including our dominant hen, our Golden Sebright bantam assumed the top of the pecking order and crowed several times. She hasn't done it since, but I do think it was related to dominance.
