I always count my birds before I shut the barn door. It has saved many a bird over the last few years by sending me out on a hen hunt

Yeah, I love silkies but they can be soooo D-U-M-B!!! I had one that went broody so I gave her a couple of eggs to sit on. (Silkies are supposed to be great broodies, right?) Every morning, when I went to open the coop, there she would be with the eggs BESIDE her!!! I finally gave up and the eggs, naturally, never hatched. Geesh!!!
